Since my setup isn't currently configured for any of the above. be able to draw on the truck battery power should the RV battery run down (think rare emergency). AND should I be on RV battery power only. My vision is to have both the truck's power and the RV's power supply power charge the trailer battery and RV battery as needed. Otherwise, they must be put on a charger manually like the other trailer brake battery. They get recharged from the built in charger on the power supply when hooked up to AC. These are not currently connected to the truck power, only to the RV's power supply. I have two 6v deep cycle batteries(wired to produce 12v) powering the RV when not connected to AC power. It currently is not connected to power from the RV or truck and must be put on a charger occasionally as it runs down over time. It has a small 12v battery connected to a breakaway switch for emergency actuation of the trailer brakes. My setup ( StappinCabinII-buildup thread)is a gooseneck trailer with an RV on the front, jeep on the back. I am, admittedly, ignorant on proper multiple battery setups, protection, charging configuration, etc. Usmcdoc14's thread in general got me thinking about my trailer/RV setup and how I'd like the power to function.
